Deep within the silty layers of Southern China, researchers have uncovered a biological secret that predates the age of the great dinosaurs by hundreds of millions of years. These embryo-like fossils hail from the Ediacaran period, an era spanning 635 to 541 million years ago. This was the dawn of complexity, a silent world preparing for the explosive arrival of the animal kingdom.

These microscopic spheres represent the very first blueprints of complex life. To the scientific community, they are a window into our origins. But within the world of Dino Age, these fossils are a warning. The stability of our history is tied to these ancient foundations, and something is beginning to stir within the strata of time itself.

In The First Fracture, Owen’s discovery of the mysterious amulet in a hidden Costa Rican chamber revealed that time is not a solid line, but a fragile tapestry. As Owen navigates the prehistoric wilds, he has noted that the Time Fractures—those jagged purple rifts in reality—often resonate at the same frequency as these Ediacaran remnants. The instability isn’t just affecting the Triassic; it is reaching back to the very first pulses of life, threatening to unravel the timeline from its inception.

As Owen works to stabilize these rifts, he realizes that the source of the chaos may be linked to these primordial beginnings. To save the future, he must understand the deep past where life first took hold. The majestic creatures of the Mesozoic are suffering from this temporal decay, and only by finding the source of the instability can the balance be restored.
