For decades, the dawn of animal life held a stubborn secret. While the Cambrian Explosion, roughly 530 million years ago, saw the sudden emergence of almost every major animal group, one remained conspicuously absent: the Bryozoans. These intricate, filter-feeding colonial invertebrates seemed to have arrived 50 million years late to the party, only appearing in the Ordovician record. However, extraordinary new fossil finds have finally bridged this gap, proving that these resilient organisms were present at the very beginning of the animal kingdom’s rise.

This discovery changes everything we thought we knew about the timeline of evolution. It suggests that the foundations of marine ecosystems were far more complex and established during the Cambrian than previously documented. These tiny architects of the sea didn’t just appear out of nowhere; they were silent witnesses to the most transformative era in Earth’s history, hidden away in the strata until now.

In the world of Dino Age, such discrepancies in the fossil record are often more than just scientific oversights. When Owen first discovered the ancient amulet in the hidden chambers of the Costa Rican temple, he felt a resonance that defied modern paleontology. As he navigates the prehistoric wilds, he encounters ‘Time Fractures’—pulsating purple rifts that distort the very fabric of reality. These fractures do more than transport Owen through time; they cause a dangerous instability, driving the majestic creatures of the past into fits of aggression. Could these gaps in our history, like the missing Bryozoans, be the result of previous fractures mending or shifting the timeline? Owen’s mission is to stabilize these rifts and find the source of the instability before the history of life is rewritten forever.
