The Western Interior Sea was once a realm of majestic yet lethal beauty, a vast waterway where the laws of nature were written in tooth and scale. Recent paleontological findings in Alabama have brought a visceral moment of this ancient world to light: a fossilized tooth of a Xiphactinus—a predatory fish reaching twenty feet in length—lodged deep within the neck vertebrae of a formidable mosasaur. This is not merely a fossil; it is a frozen second of prehistoric conflict, proving that the struggle for dominance in the Cretaceous oceans was absolute.

These apex predators were the masters of their domain, yet the evidence suggests a level of aggression that transcends simple hunger. In the world of Dino Age, we look at such discoveries through a different lens. When Owen first felt the amulet pulse near the coastal fractures of the timeline, he witnessed similar anomalies. The ‘Time Fractures’—those haunting purple rifts in reality—do more than just transport matter; they bleed instability into the environment, driving even the most stoic of prehistoric giants into a state of heightened territorial frenzy.

As Owen navigates the edges of these fractures, he discovers that the ancient seas were more than just a hunting ground. They were the front lines of a temporal war. The discovery in Alabama echoes the scars Owen sees on the creatures he encounters—marks left not just by nature, but by a world being torn apart by shifting eras. To stabilize these fractures is to restore the natural majesty of these animals, saving them from a cycle of aggression fueled by the instability of time itself.
